Marrow creates games that explore new approaches to strategy, storytelling, relationships, and fun. Our first game, Codename: Prince, will be announced soon. Sign up to be notified when we reveal.

Codename: Prince

Our first game is turn-based and played by thousands at once: each player controls a group of about 15 people surviving and thriving in a living world. Features include:

  • Rich character development and storytelling
  • Play your way: observe, to simply enjoy the stories and world; or fully play, to dive into the deep strategy
  • Thousands of groups isolate, cooperate, and/or compete
  • Incredible living world: ecosystem, flora, and fauna evolve with the world
  • Immense tech trees: 12 parallel trees with 672 possible advances
  • A lifestyle game that becomes part of your rhythm: turns process every couple of days, then we deliver you a new set of stories, updates, and opportunities

Actual game art and more specific details to be released soon.

About Marrow

We are an independent game development studio collaborating to create games that bridge contradictions: larger, but more intimate; strategic, but joyfully simple; challenging, but immensely fun. Marrow is self-funded. Our core team of four worked side-by-side for years before joining forces on Marrow:

D. Knemeyer

Design

Tabletop game designer, user experience expert, and AI pioneer, Dirk is the visionary behind our designs, our writer, and the leader of our team. They are a co-host of The Game Design Round Table podcast, a show by game designers and for game designers, since 2012 and also hosted Creative Next, a 2018-2020 podcast exploring AI’s future impacts on creative work.

S. Suh

Art

Creative director, scientific illustrator, and animator, Su Min is the author of our game art. With nearly a decade providing high-quality professional art to research scientists and biotech companies, she brings an incredible talent for conceptualization and high style to her work.

C. Lopez-Hidalgo

Development

Engineer and head of our live services, Carlos is our main programmer. During 13 years as a full-stack developer he has led or contributed to software projects large and small. He is the hub of Marrow’s engineering and code base.

M. Mata

Operations

Community and operations manager, Marisa is the glue for our team and the conduit for our players. For five years she has been the magic keeping our people, projects, and things at their absolute best.
